ART SHOW MYSTICO - "RICK GRIFFIN ORIGINAL ART POSTERS & INFLUENCES" - "OBJECTS OF COOLNESS" - May 16, 17 & 18 (2015) at MURPHY STUDIO  in Kula, on the island of Maui in Hawaii - First / Only Printing Art Show Promotional handbill printed on card stock (printed on one side only, with blank back side) - 3 63/64" x 6 63/64" - Black & white card features Rick Griffin artwork featuring his iconic "Surfin' Eyeball" critter on it's board surroundd by a ring of sperm and wings - This image has not been printed in any of the Rick Griffin books or any other book thus far, as far as I can tell - "Murph", the curator for this showing of his Rick Griffin collection, added some of his own hand wrought lettering at the top of the Rick Griffin artwork, to promote the show, which was attended by Rick's former wife & soul mate, Ida Griffin, as well as John Severson (of "Pacific Vibrations" & SURFER MAGAZINE fame, who passed on in June of 2017) - Murphy passed on in late 2015, only  a few months after the ART SHOW MYSTICO show was held at his studio in Kula on the island of Maui - Quite scarce, I doubt you'll see this item offered by anyone else on ebay, now or in the future - Very low print run and incredibly few were distributed (Murphy sent me a small number just before he died) - Pristine A/A- condition (ignore the scan anomaly that might make one think it had a bend at the left side, it doesn't..)
This original 1999 Maui Time Tabloid Newspaper is over 20 years old now...
DESCRIPTION AND CONDITION:
The Rick Griffin created Surfing Eyeball image appears on the cover in full color and in two places inside (black & white only) to promote the "1st annual
Surf Gathering" . The paper is like new with no damage.
Also included is an original promo handbill for the 2015 ART SHOW MYSTICO Kula, Maui event, featuring a very obscure Rick Griffin pen & ink drawing (see photo).
