    Description

Offered for sale here, this 1974Ducati 750GT. Engine number 755331 frame 755363, with 12,400 original miles. That has had the same owner since 1985. Over 150 hours were spent on a professional ground up restoration. The frame and chassis parts have been powder coated. The tank, fenders and side covers have been repainted to a beautiful candy orange as close to original as could be achieved using modern 3 stage paint. This bike was not a ratty barn find, it ran before it was disassembled and had the original lead seal on the crankcase bolts. It had been poorly painted in the past and was not very pretty but, ran strong. I rebuilt the top end, resurfacing valves and seats. I honed the cylinders and had custom gapless rings made for it. The cases were split for resealing, all engine and transmission bearings were cleaned and inspected. All shafts were shimmed to within factory specs. All gaskets and seals were replaced. The cases were chemically cleaned and the covers were hand polished.
The carburetors were ultrasonically cleaned and rebuilt, as were the original petcocks. The original Radaelli rims were stripped and chrome plated, then relaced with stainless spokes. All wheel bearings were replaced, and Pirelli Sport Demon tires were installed. The original Scarab caliper was rebuilt but, a modern Brembo master cylinder was installed for reliability. It has an updated solid state regulator/rectifier. The instrument panel housing was replaced but the original clocks were untouched and work perfectly. Original Aprilia turn signals were sourced and installed. Original head pipes and crossover were re-plated as was all other chrome bits on the bike. The Conti mufflers were in excellent condition and only required polishing. The other departure from stock is the high beam/horn/turn signal switch was replaced with a non original part, again for reliability. There was no expense spared on this restoration. The bike has a clean Illinois title. Less than 10 sorting miles were put on this bike since it’s completion.
